Canadian Rockies

British Columbia Whitewater, Kicking Horse River

Oh, the Rockies! In 2008, I had an opportunity to visit Alberta and British Columbia. We spent most of our time in and around Banff National Park, but we did manage to get outside of the Park on some great scenic drives. Part of our trip into B.C. covered the same roads you highlight on the Hot Springs Circle Tour. WOW, is all I can say! If anyone is heading up that way, I can also recommend another fantastic drive, which is the Icefields Parkway, which runs north-south along the Alberta-B.C. border, from Banff on the southern end, to Jasper, Alb. on the northern end. The parkway travels right past one of the most accessible glaciers in the world, the Athabasca Glacier. The tour of the glacier is fantastic - you actually get to take a bus out on to the ice and walk around right on the glacier itself! Take an empty water bottle if you go during summer - some of the freshest and coldest water you'll ever drink! Everything about the Canadian rockies is fantastic. I hope everyone who visits this site gets the opportunity to travel the roads in Alberta and British Columbia.
