Halfway River Hot Springs

Access to these remote natural hot springs can be challenging. They are found off a steep trail that starts at the end of an old road off the Halfway River Road. The pools are an assortment of tarp-lined plywood soaking boxes that hold the pipe-channeled 65-degree spring water. It is recommended that the valve-controlled water is left at a trickle; otherwise it gets far too hot. A bucket is usually on hand for adding river water to cool the pools down. A path leads to a nearby river where you can take an ice-cold plunge between dips.
