The Rossland Historical Museum five acre complex is situated on the site of the Black Bear Mine at Hwy 22 & 3B. It consists of the museum building an outdoor history park and a restored section of the historic Le Roi Gold Mine. It is one of the only attractions in Canada offering the visitor a unique experience of an underground tour into a historic hard-rock gold mine. The museum offers displays on the history of Rossland, a Teck (Cominco) Wing, a History of Power in the West Kootenay exhibit, a Ski Wing as well as an extensive archives. A Visitor Centre and Gift Shop are located in the museum lobby for our visitors. The underground mine tours are guided and run throughout the day from 9:30 to 3:30 with the museum open daily from 9:00 to 5:00.
