Learn about the Lewis and Clark Expedition and their travels through Indian Country. Meet the First Peoples to whom the land was home and understand the hardships and beauty of life in the American west. Enjoy panoramic views of the Missouri River from the lobby; then explore the 6,000 square foot exhibit hall where the complete Expedition story unfolds. Follow the Corps of Discovery from their 1804 departure in St. Charles, Missouri across the expansive plains, over the snow-capped Rocky Mountains to their ultimate goal at the Pacific shores. Meet the many Indian tribes who assisted the explorers and experience their life of long ago. Witness the elaborate, often imperfect, diplomacy of the exploring party. Enjoy two featured films in the 158-seat theater; meet a Ranger and learn more about this epic story; or stroll the river shoreline to see pelicans swooping for a catch or songbirds calling for a mate. School teachers, schedule your classes for a personalized educational program and tour. Call to learn about special programming happening every month.
