Alta Ranch
Alta Ranch. Located in the Bitterroot Valley in SW Montana, between Glacier and Yellowstone parks, provides deluxe lodging in five fully-furnished, hand-hewn log cabins; a mile of the West Fork of the Bitterroot River flows through the 150 acre ranch with excellent fly fishing. The ranch is two miles from Painted Rocks Reservoir. The ranch has a large pond with rowboat, canoe, and paddleboat and huge stocked rainbow trout. There are many beautiful hiking trails in the area; white water rafting and horseback riding are nearby. In the winter you can cross country ski, go sledding, snowshoeing, and ice skating on the ranch; downhill skiing at Lost Trail Powder Mountain is 45 minutes away. The ranch has abundant wild life--elk, moose, whitetail deer, golden and bald eagles and many other birds. Free wireless internet access.
