Kooskia Crossing/Welcome Center, Kooskia

This outdoor interpretive exhibit at the junction of US Highway 12 and Idaho Highway 13 has interpretive signs, native shrub landscaping, and a handsome metal sculpture. Near this site was a major river crossing for loggers and miners accessing the South Fork drainage and Gospel Hump Wilderness in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Today it is the byway mid-point. Continue east along US Highway 12 to Lolo Pass or travel Idaho Highway 13 to Grangeville and the Camas Prairie.
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this well-lit, unstaffed kiosk area provides great information for the traveler.

Address: This outdoor interpretive exhibit is located at the junction of US Highway 12 and Idaho Highway 13.
