Fort Bridger

Fort Bridger was established in 1843 by Jim Bridger and Louis Vasquez as an emigrant supply post along the Oregon Trail. It was obtained by the Mormons in the early 1850's and became a US military post in 1858. In 1933 the property was dedicated as a Wyoming Historical Landmark and Museum. Several restored historical buildings and a museum containing artifacts from various historical periods are on the property.
