National Historic Trails Interpretive Center

The National Historic Trails Center overlooks the North Platte River near an important trail crossing. Here the trail left the North Platte and headed to Independence Rock on the Sweetwater River. The center tells the story of the Oregon, California, Mormon, and Pony Express Trails between 1840 and 1870 through dioramas, interactive exhibits, and multi-media presentations.
