Historic Challis
Historic Challis was established in 1875 as a stop-over and freight drop, before a road was built into the newly discovered mines in the Yankee Fork Mining District. Many of the original buildings still stand in Historic Challis. Challis contains two historic districts, both listed on the National Register of Historic Places: Old Challis Historic District and Challis Brewery Historic District.
