Remington Carriage Museum
Remington Carriage Museum - "Most spacious and best equipped purpose-built carriage museum in the world". The Remington Carriage Museum houses the largest collection of horse drawn vehicles in North America, with over 250 carriages, buggies, wagons and sleighs. Interpretive scenes help put the vehicles into context, showing how they affected almost every facet of life during the 19th century. Guided tours reveal some of the fascinating stories associated with the vehicles. Features in the Main Gallery include a carriage factory, blacksmith shop, firehall, and a carriage dealership. The Western Settlement area exhibits rough-and -ready freight wagons, chuckwagons and lumber wagons, while the Day at the Races area showcases the vehicles of the elite members of Victorian society. The Museum has both a working stable and a restoration shop. It features a theatre, restaurant,and giftshop. Carriage rides are available seasonally, weather permitting. The entire museum is handicap accessible. The Remington Carriage Museum has received the highest ratings for visitor satisfaction each year since opening.
