Tobacco Valley Historical Village
Pioneer buildings were moved here to save them from drowning when Libby Dam created Lake Koocanusa in the 1970s. View the history of the Tobacco Valley and stroll through late 1890s and early 1900s buildings -- including Fewkes General Store Museum, the Iowa Flats One Room School, the old Eureka Library, the Rexford Catholic Church built in 1920s, and a 100-foot-tall fire lookout. Walk through an old Great Northern caboose and check out the Logging Museum in the Old Rexford Depot. From here, take a "Walk on the Wild Side" and stroll along the Tobacco River on the Paved River Walk, or take the Kootenai Trail on the "Old Railroad Grade" from Eureka eight miles to Rexford. Or enjoy a shady picnic by the river in the adjacent city park.
