Waterton Village
Nested at the foot of Waterton Lake inside the national park, Waterton village offers mountain comforts and a great jumping off point for great wilderness hikes, beach walks, and a cruise into the United States aboard the International passenger boat. Built at Goat Haunt, Montana, the wooden-hulled International never motors far from home. Climb aboard the vessel that since 1928 has shuttled 1.5 million visitors across the liquid border shimmering between its port of birth and Waterton Park townsite in Alberta. Atop a bluff overlooking waterton lake and prominent from miles around is the Prince of Wales Hotel. Afternoon tea, British-style, makes this 1927 architectural expression of rustic grandeur a restful vantage point for your contemplation of Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.
